SHUMAS NGO status was renewed under registration number 000156/O/MINAT/SG/DAP/SDLP/SONG/BA on 7 May 2020, reaffirming its legal standing to operate as a full Non-Governmental Organization across Cameroon.

Awarded by: United Nations, New York
SHUMAS was accepted as a member of the NGO Committee on Social Development with the United Nations on 4 February 2016, enabling direct participation in global social development policy discussions at the UN.

UN ECOSOC Special Consultative Status
Awarded by: United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)
SHUMAS was granted Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council — one of the highest forms of recognition for a civil society organisation, enabling participation in UN conferences and contribution to international development policy.

SHUMAS was formally recognised as a Non-Governmental Organization under decree number 00000196/A/MINATD/SG/DAP/SDLP/SONG, expanding its mandate from development to embrace both humanitarian response and development intervention.

Exclusive Partnership — Building Schools for Africa
Awarded by: Building Schools for Africa (BSFA), United Kingdom
SHUMAS was selected as the exclusive implementing partner in Cameroon for Building Schools for Africa. Since 2007 this partnership has delivered over 328 furnished classrooms, 51 drinking water sources, 7 rural health centres constructed or rehabilitated, 18 health centres equipped, and emergency aid for thousands of conflict-affected people.

Association Registration — SHUMAS Founded
Awarded by: Government of Cameroon
SHUMAS was formally recognised as an Association under the 1990 law of associations, authorisation number 1082/E.29/IIII/VI.7/APPB — marking the founding of the organisation and the beginning of over 27 years of community development and humanitarian work across Cameroon.
