Statistics Humanitarian Response

  • Training of Community Based Organizations and Communication for Development Actors: 49 organizations and actors were trained on Essential Family Practices (EFP) and social cohesion in 9 divisions in the North West and South West regions.
  • Sensitization of IDPs and Host Communities: 45,000 IDPs and host communities were sensitized and trained on essential family practices and social cohesion in churches, meetings, community squares, bushes, and households in 9 divisions in NW (Momo, Mezam, Boyo, Ngoketunjia, and Menchum) and SW (Meme, Fako, Manyu, and Ndian) regions.
  • Radio Sensitization: Sensitization was also carried out through radio slots and micro-programs in 5 out of 9 targeted radios: Radio Evangelium and Abakwa FM in Momo, Boyo, Mezam, and Menchum; Mediafrique for Fako; Lake Side radio for Meme; and Radio Evangelium for Manyu Division.
  • Health Intervention: 300 health actors were identified, recruited, and trained on specific emergency health intervention.
  • Child Healthcare: 17,797 children under the age of 5 were consulted and treated for malaria, diarrhea, and pneumonia in 14 health districts in the NW and SW regions.
  • Distribution of LLINs: 23,300 Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs) were provided to identified households and families in 14 health districts in NW and SW regions of Cameroon.
  • Prenatal Care: 1428 pregnant women received at least 3 doses of Intermittent Preventive Treatment, iron, and Folic acid.
  • IEC Material Distribution: 87,056 Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials on EFP were distributed to families in 14 health districts in public places, bushes, and community squares.
  • Feedback Mechanism: 19 feedback and complaint mechanisms were put in place and are functioning.
  • Dialogue Sessions and Community Engagement: 10 dialogue sessions were organized on EFP, meetings with male and female adolescents, access to humanitarian assistance, and mass campaigns. Additionally, outreach activities were communicated to the community.
  • Community Health Workers and Facilities Support: 20 Community Health Workers (CHW), 20 community mobilizers, and 20 traditional authorities in the Bamenda III subdivision (Nkwen health area) were recruited and trained. Furthermore, 4 hand washing stations were provided to Chinde learning center and ST. Paul Primary school.
  • Elderly Healthcare and COVID-19 Screening: 317 elderly persons above 60 years in Nkwen health area were screened for COVID-19 using thermos-flash.
  •  Women's Empowerment and COVID-19 Response: 100 vulnerable women were trained on how to produce face masks and locally made hand sanitizer.
  • Community Engagement and Education: Focus group discussions in the local language and sensitization of 3000 people using IEC materials with targeted messages were conducted.
  • Support for IDPs: Mattresses were provided for IDPs (Procurement of food supplies  Sheltered IDPs).
