#SHUMAS has successfully concluded a two-day intensive capacity-building training on disability inclusion held at the SHUMAS Head Office. Organized by the Coordinating Unit of Associations of Persons with Disabilities #CUAPWD under the Leave No One Behind #LNOB4 project, funded by #CBM, the training equipped staff with practical knowledge and tools to strengthen disability-inclusive programming across the organization.
Building on its commitment to inclusion, #SHUMAS will continue to mainstream disability inclusion across its programmes and extend it to areas that were not previously captured, ensuring a more comprehensive and systematic approach across all operations.
The training also strengthened SHUMAS' capacity in inclusive communication and the use of the Washington Group Short Set #WGSS of questions for respectful and effective disability data collection. Recognizing that some staff were unable to attend because they were deployed in the field, SHUMAS will organize extension sessions to ensure all staff acquire the same knowledge and practical skills needed to mainstream disability inclusion across all programmes.
